Southern Drought To Intensify Through Winter, NWS Predicts

Mother Nature isn’t going to give the dry, wildfire-plagued South a break this winter, forecasters say.
Relatively warm and bone-dry conditions are expected to continue in the Southeast, intensifying an extreme drought in the region, according to the US Seasonal Drought Outlook from the National Weather Service’s Climate Prediction Center.
