Yep, there are some people in our country who actually believe once Trump takes office, he will text them and they won’t be able to block his texts. Like Trump or not, this is one of the most ridiculous rumors about Trump’s upcoming presidency. No, you’re not going to get text messages from the president. It’s just not going to happen. Look, there’s how many of us in the US? 325 million give or take a few? How would he ever have time to send that many text messages– he’s too busy on Twitter! LOL!

In all seriousness, no, you will not get a text message from the president.

While it is true that presidents of the United States since 2006 have had the power to send an emergency alert through the national Warning, Alert and Response Network (WARN). Presidents George W. Bush and Barack Obama never used it, because only a critical, phenomenally bad crisis that’ll make your head spin warrants an unblockable personal message from the commander-in-chief ordering every single American to bend over and kiss their, um, loved ones goodbye.
