The summer heat brings out a number of creatures that includes brown recluse spiders.

The eight-legged arachnids are more active during this time of year and it’s not uncommon to spot them in your home.

Family Nurse Practitioner, Diana Vardeman said just this weekend Community Med Family Urgent Care, saw their first brown recluse spider bite this year.
